Sustainable Intelligence: Collaborative Learning Perspectives
Prof. Wei Yang Bryan Lim (NTU, Singapore)
Abstract: As artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications continue to expand, developing sustainable, responsible, and human-centered intelligent ecosystems has become increasingly critical. In this discussion, we will showcase some of our past and ongoing works aimed at promoting efficiency, fairness, and privacy in the design and deployment of AI systems.

Wei Yang Bryan Lim is currently assistant professor in the college of computing and data science, nanyang technological university (NTU) Singapore. He serves as a technical programme committee member of federated learning workshops in leading conferences such as NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCAI, and is an editor of the IEEE Transactions in Parallel and Distributed Systems and IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. He has also contributed to sustainability standards in the International telecommunication union, and is a co-principal investigator in the Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability corporate lab (ANGEL).
Wenjie Li is a PhD student at Xidian University and was previously a visiting student at NTU. He works on cryptography, secure aggregation in federated learning and privacy and safety in large language models.
Tiantong Wu is a PhD student at the University of Sydney and visiting student at NTU Singapore. He is a recipient of the CSIRO-Data61 Postgraduate scholarship and University of Sydney International Research scholarship. His research interests include IoT network security and privacy, distributed machine learning, and distributed ledger technology.
